Whats in my WILD SWIMMING bag?
a WINTER addition of whats in my wild swimming bag! - updated November 2024
We are back again, this time with an updated WINTER version of “Whats in my WILD SWIMMING bag?” … as always this is a LONG list so bare with me. (Please note some of these are affiliate links that means I may make a small amount of money from your order but it will cost you nothing extra).
SWIMWEAR
I have a fair amount of swimwear (hey at least i’m self-aware!) but that doesn’t mean I don’t want more ok? I have listed some of my favourite brands at the moment below.
BATOKO - as writing this I’ve just nabbed Octopus in the SAMPLE sale!
MorSwimmy - my absolute FAVOURITE in winter. A rash-guard and swimsuit combination that cannot be beat.
Duck or Dive - the cutest patterns AND use code ‘yorkshiredippers10’ for 10% off!
DRY ROBE / CHANGING ROBE
I cannot lie dryrobe is the OG, she’s the warmest of the lot! I do find mine a little bit long (I’m only 5ft 5) however i’ve added some little buttons to be able to make it shorter when out on adventures. (I’ve tried out a few other brands but nothing compares to my dryrobe)
BOBBLE HAT
Chunky, cozy and perfect for during your swim or after (or if your organised one for each!) - it HAS to be Big Bobble Hats, the best colours and the BIGGEST bobbles.

NEOPRENE
An extra layer on your hands and feet, perfect for when the ICE makes its appearance or for being able to stay in the water that tiny bit longer when the temp drops.
Two Bare Feet 5mm Neoprene Gloves - BUY HERE
YDQUANI 5mm Neoptene Socks - BUY HERE
PATCH BLANKET
A bloody bargain at only £4 and PERFECT to FILL with as many patches as humanly possible. The perfect extra warm layer to roll up and throw in your bag! - BUY HERE
Where do I get my Patches from?
The Yorkshire Dippers (obviously)
Etsy (small businesses)
Small local shops on adventures; like CONQUER in the Lake District
DRY BAG / BUCKET
I can’t lie I defiantly need something that closes and is secure in the new year for going on adventures… HOWEVER this little guy is perfect for just throwing your wet stuff in and either carrying or folding up and putting in your bag!- BUY HERE
CHANGING MAT
You can’t try and attempt to get changed without one! A must especially if you are adventuring and need something to protect you from the cold floor! - you can get these on Amazon or direct from Two Bare Feet
LAYERS
One thing I find myself needing after every cold swim in extra layer, this Changing Tube from Warmcor is perfect to give you an extra layer WHILE getting changed - its super easy to pop a t-shirt over the top or pull up your joggers from the bottom.
SUMMER SHOES
Yes I know it says SUMMER but I keep these in my bag always. They are a 10/10 … honestly the best things I have EVER bought. They are fab for shorter dips or even for sauna swims where I don’t really need to keep my feet warm. - BUY HERE
… a few more thing to make sure you remember:
Fluffy Socks - for post swim!
Hot Water bottle
A drink or some Warm Soup - I share a favourite recipe of ours in my most recent Blog Post; The Joy of Winter Swimming: Finding Peace in the Cold
If there is anything you see me using that I haven’t listed here please just drop me a message or leave a comment and ill be happy to share the link 👏🏻
Wish List:
(Things i’d LOVE to have in my bag, a few items i’ve had my eye on recently!)
Boondocker Recycled 26L Backpack (Khaki) from Passenger
MorSwimmy Moons Swimsuit & Rash Guard
Lu Cornish Under This I’m Naked Patch
Waterproof Dry Bag Set of 6
One last thing … wherever you dive in, please stay safe. Check out your surroundings, know the waters, and always bring those extra cozy layers for the post-swim chill (trust me, you’ll thank yourself later).
Here’s to happy dips, wild swims, and all the adventures that come with them! 🏊🏻♀️✨
